AEO · Answer Engine Optimization

Get cited by the AI that answers your customers.

Search is becoming one answer, not ten links — and that answer cites only a handful of sources. Not just your website: your product descriptions, your copy, your content. I make what you publish readable, trusted, and quotable by AI answer engines and search alike. This page is the live proof — it's built exactly the way I'd build yours.

In short

What is AEO, and why does it decide who AI cites?

Answer Engine Optimization structures what you publish — your site, product descriptions, and copy — so AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) can read, trust, and cite it directly. Where SEO competes for a rank, AEO competes for the citation inside the generated answer. With answers citing only 2–7 sources, being citable now matters more than ranking fourth.

What gets optimized

Not just your website.

AEO applies to everywhere an answer engine reads about you — your site, your products, your words, your content. I work across all four.

Website

Your site & landing pages

Entities, schema, and server-rendered answers so search and AI crawlers actually read, trust, and quote you — instead of skipping past.

Products

Product & service descriptions

Listings and product copy structured so AI describes and recommends them accurately — in your words, not a competitor's paraphrase.

Copy

Marketing copy & messaging

Headlines, positioning, and FAQs written answer-first, so the sentence an answer engine lifts is the one you'd have chosen.

Content

Content & articles

Blog posts and docs shaped to become the cited source for the exact questions your buyers ask an AI.

Method

How a page earns the citation.

Five moves, in order — each one a thing engines can actually verify, not a vibe.

01

Entitywho you are

Establish one unambiguous identity. Consistent name, brand, and contact across the site and the web, linked with Person/Organization markup and sameAs, so engines resolve you to a single entity.

02

Schemamachine-readable meaning

Mark up the meaning. Organization, Service, FAQ, WebPage, and Breadcrumb schema turn prose into machine-readable facts an engine can lift with confidence.

03

Answer-firstwritten to be quoted

Write to be quoted. A question-led heading followed by a tight, self-contained answer in the first 40–60 words — the exact shape answer engines lift verbatim.

04

Server-renderin the initial HTML

Render on the server. Most AI crawlers don't execute JavaScript, so the answer must exist in the initial HTML. Server rendering is the line between being read and being skipped.

05

Citemake it easy, then iterate

Make it easy to cite, then iterate. hreflang for the right language, an llms.txt summary for answer engines, and monitoring to see where you surface — then double down on what gets picked up.

Proof, not promises

This page is built exactly the way I'd build yours.

What is AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)?

AEO is structuring what you publish — your site, product descriptions, and marketing copy — so AI answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) can read, trust, and cite it directly. Where SEO competes for a rank, AEO competes for the citation inside the generated answer. It relies on clear entities, schema, and answer-first content.

How is AEO different from SEO?

They overlap but optimize for different surfaces. SEO targets ranked links and clicks; AEO targets being quoted inside one synthesized answer that may cite only two to seven sources. Good AEO is built on solid SEO foundations — crawlability, structure, entities — then adds schema, answer-first writing, and machine-readable summaries on top.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT or Perplexity will cite my business?

No — nobody can guarantee a specific model cites you on a given day, and anyone who promises that is bluffing. What I do is make your site maximally citable: consistent entities, the right schema, answer-first content, server-rendered HTML that crawlers actually read, and an llms.txt. That is the controllable input; citation is the output it earns.

Why does AEO matter now?

Search is shifting from ten blue links to one synthesized answer. When that answer cites only a handful of sources, ranking fourth is worth little if you are not one of the cited few. Entities, schema, and server-rendered answers are now citation infrastructure, not nice-to-haves — and most sites haven't caught up.

Do you work with overseas clients?

Yes. I work remotely with founders and teams worldwide and deliver in both English and Korean — including correct hreflang and per-language entities, so each market's search and answer engines see a clean, localized version. This site itself ships EN and KO in parallel as the reference implementation.

What do you deliver, and how do we start?

It starts with a measured audit of how search and answer engines see you today — entities, schema, crawlability, answer-readiness — scored from real data. From there I implement the fixes across your site, product descriptions, and copy: schema, answer-first rewriting, server rendering, llms.txt, and monitoring to confirm it. Email me and I reply within 24 hours.
